COVID-19 | Surveying in Oklahoma

On March 25, 2020, Governor J. Kevin Stitt issued an Amended Executive Memorandum 2020-01 regarding which business types could remain open as "critical infrastructure sectors".

The section entitled "Commercial & Professional Services" lists in part that, "Professional (such as legal and accounting), scientific and technical services" may remain open

Below is the latest information that we have regarding Governor Stitt's proclamation on essential businesses and how it affects Surveying in the State of Oklahoma.

This is a trying time for many small surveying businesses. If you are a small business owner and have been adversely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, there is a program available just for you. PLEASE call your local banker and tell them you are interested in the Paycheck Protection Program ("PPP").

If you do not have an available banking professional, contact my friend Jed Waggoner at F&M Bank He will advise you and also process your loan, if needed. DO NOT LET YOUR BUSINESS FAIL. TALK TO YOUR BANKER.

The best thing about this loan is that the dept will be forgiven as long as:

  • The loan proceeds are used to cover payroll costs, and most mortgage interest, rent, and utility costs over the 8 week period after the loan is made; and
  • Employee and compensation levels are maintained.
